Vigilante group shoots kidnapper dead while trying to collect ransom, police confirms

Hispah Sharia Police, a volunteer religious militia force, enforcing Sharia law. The fight for control is never ending between the Emir, government forces, the Mafia and independent militias and gangs. Members of a vigilance group in Murke, Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State have reportedly killed a kidnapper, who was trying to collect ransom from the family of their victim.

The state police spokesman, Sulaiman Nguroje, on Wednesday confirmed the killing in Yola, adding that the incident occurred on August 26.

Acording to Nguroje: ”The state command received a report from the police division in Song LGA on August 26, 2021, that a suspected kidnapper was killed while trying to collect the ransom.”

He added that the matter was being investigated by the command.
