US Govt. promises to partner with Lagos on security, education, health

The United States Government has promised to cooperate with Lagos State Government in the provision of good health care and security.

The new Consular-General of the United States of America consulate, Lagos, Ms Claire Pierangelo, while on a courtesy visit to the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, at the Lagos House, Alausa, said the United States Government sees Lagos State as a strategic partner in further cementing the relationship that had existed between the Nigerian and United States governments.

She said both countries, having enjoyed cordial relationship in the past, could further cement their partnership by working with the Lagos State government.

“The relationship between the government of United States and Nigeria has always been cordial.

“We want to be a good neighbour and partners. Having relationship with Lagos State government is necessary for the success of United States government.

“We came here to show our commitment. We have been working with the Nigerian government in areas of education, health and security, and much of that we do and will continue to do with the Lagos State government,” she said.

In his response, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the state, being the centre of excellence, will work with the new Consular General and wished her a successful stay in the state.
