The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ademola Adeleke, has been declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He polled 403,371 votes to beat the incumbent, Governor Gboyega Oyetola who garnered 375,027.

Announcing the winner on Sunday morning, the returning officer for the Osun governorship election, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe announced that Ademola won 17 local governments while Governor Oyetola from the ruling party won 13 local governments.
