Senator Ahmed Lawan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Yobe North in the National Assembly, is currently addressing his colleagues for their support for him to be elected as the Senate President of the 9th Assembly.
He sought the cooperation of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators to elect him as the President of the Senate.
