Two women in soup for abducting 2-yr-old boy in Imo

Two women are currently cooling their heels in Imo State police net for allegedly abducting a two-year-old boy.

The two suspects, 33-year-old Joy Ugorji and Victoria Joseph, 28, were nabbed in the course of trying to sell boy.

The Imo State Police Command in a statement by its spokesperson, SP Ikeoku Godson Orlando, on Tuesday disclosed that on May 30, its Anti-Vice Unit operatives intercepted the women with the boy during a stop and search operation.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, saying the boy was stolen from Kakuano Local Government Area, Rivers State, and that they had brought him for sale in Imo.

The police also urged the public with relevant information that could help in unraveling the identity of the boy to  contact Imo State Police Control Room on 08034773600 or the Police Public Relations Officer on 07034714499.

Meanwhile, the police spokesman said investigation was ongoing, adding that the boy had been kept in the motherless babies’ home while efforts are being made to locate his parents.
