Two robbery suspects terrorising Lekki-Ajah resident, motorists, nabbed

Two suspected armed robbers, notorious for terrorizing residents and motorists along the Lekki-Ajah axis, have been arrested by operatives of the Ilasan Police Division, Lagos State Police Command.
The suspects, Samson Tells, 37, and Raphael John, 21, were also alleged to be operating one chance robbery along the route.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspected armed robbers had on August 2, at 9.30p.m. attacked the owner of a Toyota Corrolla car with Registration Number JJJ 242 FW, at Ikate Area of Lagos.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, duo reportedly took over the steering, drove the victim to an ATM point at Ikate and withdrew the sum of N20,000 from the account of the victim.
Adejobi said: “The victim quickly informed the police who tracked down and traced the car to mechanic workshop at Lafiaji, Lagos Island, on August 3, where the suspects were arrested with the stolen car. The victim has identified Samson Tella as one of the robbers that attacked him.”
The PPRO said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP) Hakeem Odumosu, has in furtherance of his efforts to reduce crime, especially one chance robbery, reiterated his order to tactics Commanders in the Command to expedite action in flushing out criminals in the state.
“The Commissioner of Police, therefore, reassured the good people of Lagos State of adequate security for lives and property and to sustain the peace that is being enjoyed by the residents of Lagos State.
“He also ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Special Squad, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution,” he said.
