An all-women right organisation, the Women Arise and Centre for Change (WACC), has charged the Federal Government and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba Usman to fish out those behind gruesome murder of the University of Ife post graduate student, Timothy Adegoke for justice to take its course.
The charge was made on Monday through a statement signed by the group’s leader, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, through which he charged the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and the security outfits under the IGP Usman Alkali Baba,to do the needful without minding whose ox is gored in the process.

Recall that Mr. Adegoke, had travelled from Abuja to Ile-Ife on November 5, 2021 for an examination at the OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State where he lodged at Hilton Hotel, before meeting his untimely death in a circumstance that arose suspicion of ritual murder.
The organization sadly noted that the suspicious circumstances that led to his death had drawn the attention of international human rights watch organisations and Nigeria as a country was expected to prove her mettle as a society of justice, no matter whose ox is gored, calling on local, state and federal agencies concerned with the matter to ensure that their duties were discharged without fear or favour and without having their hands soiled in the process.
The call to do a thorough job, according to her, is imperative because, “injustice somewhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” quoting the late Martin Luther King Jr.

Okei-Odumakin, who said the group’s hearts remained with the widow, children and relatives of the late student, however, assured that her organization has resolved to continue to closely monitor events around the on-going investigation into the death of Timothy Adegoke, assuring further that the group remained committed to ensuring that justice was served and that such unfortunate incident did not repeat itself in the country.
Her words: “We will continue to closely monitor events around the on-going investigation into the death of Timothy, as we remain committed to ensuring that justice is served and that such unfortunate incident is not witnessed again in our society.
“Our hearts remain with the widow, children and relatives of the deceased,” Okei-Odumakin concluded.
