Tension as cult clash kills one, injures several in Delta

Pandemonium in Asaba, Delta State capital has two cults gang clashes with one death and some seriously injury.

It was learnt that dilemma in reprisal cult siege in the state capital were residents can no longer sleep with two eye closed as become a serious issued. 

It was reported that the calastrophe and killing started on the 13th August 2020 in Umuagu quarters, Asaba,  Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that a young man who was simply identified as Obu was killed in a repraisal attack in the late hours of 13, August, 2020.

It was revealed that the deceased, a graduate of Mass Communication from the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku was killed in a bar at Umuagu quarters, Asaba.

An eye witness who spoke to Nigeria Xpress on anonymity, said: “He came to watch football in the bar and he was drinking, at about 10:00pm. The gang of three men came in immediately power went off and told everyone to be calm that they came for him alone. They shot him four times and dragged him outside the bar”.

Meanwhile, in what has been called a repraisal attack, there was another attack in the neighboring street at early hours of 14, August, 2020 as another person identified as Michael, a teacher with one of the private collages in Asaba was attacked in his house and shot servely in of his wife and children. 

Police Public Relation Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya who confirmed the incident.

She further disclosed that the killings were as a result of attacks from two rival gangs, disclosing that investigation have began on the incident.
