He pointed out that the tennis club formed in 1992 has risen from a humble beginning to become a giant when it comes to the sport in the South East and South South zones of the country.

Ndubuoke who spoke after his investiture commended the tennis club for driving the development of tennis in the state, even as he assured members of the club that the Imo Sports Commission would partner them in the effort to rebuild Imo Sports.

Ndubuoke stressed that all hands are on deck to bring back Imo athletes who are competing for other states, insisting that the era of “legs drain” in Imo sports is over.

“We will create an enabling environment that would see Imo athletes return to compete for the state. We would boast their morale and make them have a sense of belonging.
