Taraba PDP chieftain tasks Gov. Ishaku on completion of hospital, road

Justin Tyopuusu, Jalingo

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Taraba State, Hon. Caleb Timothy, has urged Governor Darius Ishaku to complete the Ussa General Hospital and the 15 kilometer Takum – Ussa Road to address the major challenges facing the people of the area.

Timothy made the call in an interview with journalists in Jalingo on Wednesday.

He noted that the construction of the road will help the people who are mostly farmers in conveying their goods and food stuff to the market.

Timothy who is the Secretary of Ussa Local Government Council also explained that the completion of the General Hospital Ussa which was started by late Governor Danbaba Suntai will go a long way in addressing the health need of the people without necessarily having to travel to Takum.

“Ussa is an agrarian place so the construction of the Takum-Ussa road and other road networks in the area will boast agricultural production in the area.

“The structures already in place at the General hospital in Ussa must not be allowed to waste.

“When completed the General Hospital will serve the health need of residents of Ussa and beyond,” he said.

While Congratulating Governor, Darius Ishaku and the Member representing Ussa State Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Habila Andefurun on their re-election, Timothy called on
aggrieved people to join hands with the Governor and Habila in building a better society.

He lamented that Governor Ishaku would have gotten overwhelming support from Ussa in the last election if not for some of the Governor’s appointees who worked against him. This is even as he condemned the violence that preceded the supplementary election in Ussa last Saturday.
