Sustain virtues upon which you became Vice Chancellor –  -Ooni tells Ile-Ife-born new UNILORIN VC

The Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has described the appointment of a son of the ancient town as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Prof. Wahab Egbewole as ‘well-deserved’.

In a congratulatory message by the Arole Oodua, the monarch congratulated the Ife-born university don, through a statement issued by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, copies which were made available to newsmen in Ilorin.

Ooni Adeyeye had told the new Vice Chancellor that his latest status is a true reflection of his decades of investment in the growth of Nigeria’s Education sector through the University of Ilorin saying,  “I am so proud and I cannot but congratulate you very warmly.

“Going further, I want you to sustain the virtues upon which you became the latest VC in Nigeria and also step it up now that you have a bigger platform to impact lives and help develop our dear country’s educational sector.”

Prof. Egbewole, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who specialises in Law and Jurisprudence was named the twelfth Vice Chancellor of the University, on Thursday  evening, by the Governing Council of the institution.
