Stray bullet killed man again in Lagos

A man identified as Waliyullah Dauda has been killed at Shogunle area of  Lagos State, by a stray bullet reportedly shot into the air by a yet-to-be identified policeman.

According to eyewitness,Mr Olowu Taiwo, Dauda, was a chair rental who had hitherto rented chairs  out to a church in the neighbourhood for an event.

It  was said that among the guests who attended the event came with police officers and while leaving the venue his men shoot into the air to scare away the area boys who had gathered to receive money from the VIP.

“It was around 8pm when the incident happened, he was not at the venue,some boys had gathered to receive money from the VIP who attended the event,this, his men wanted to prevent and shot in the air. Dauda was about four streets away from the scene we all heard when the police were shooting in the air,it was surprising how the bullet came down on him and hit him on the head, he died instantly, he said.

The Oshodi/Isolo Local Government  chairman Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh has called for calm in the area.
