The Biafra Nations League (BNL) has accused the governors of South East of misleading the people of the region with the clamour for an Igbo Presidency come 2023.
The group said that South East governors were misleading people that the solution to Biafra agitation is a President of Igbo extraction.
National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richard, made the remark while rebuking the governors and Ohanaeze Ndigbo for disowning the pro-Biafra groups.
The group, therefore, warned Igbo leaders to desist from attempting to hijack the Biafra struggle to make it look like an Igbo affair.
The group issued the warning in a statement signed and forwarded to reporters.
According to Richard, “The Biafra struggle is far beyond the struggle for ethnic interest, the South East governors and Ohanaeze are misleading the public by projecting the Igbo Presidency as the solution to the Biafran struggle.”
The BNL leader said Biafra is about the freedom of “all inhabitants of the Bight of Biafra in Nigeria and cannot be exchanged for the President of Igbo extraction.”
