Nigerian actress, Halima Abubakar, has threatened to call out “some of your favs and billionaires who are guilty of rape yet shaming women for speaking up now”.
In a post on her Instagram page, on Thursday, the actress claimed half of men in the society are guilty of rape if survivors are to start reporting their experiences.
She, however, did not provide any data to back her claim.
Abubakar also took a swipe at those who attempt to shame rape survivors when they muster the courage to share their experiences with the public.
“Stop telling people when to tell their experience. We call it trauma‼ Don’t tell anyone the time frame to complain about rape.
“If we are going to report rape or harassment, half of the men are guilty,” she wrote on Instagram.

Her comment comes amid the ongoing outrage over the recent cases of rape and murder in the country.
It had earlier been reported how Barakat Bello, an 18-year-old girl, was raped and murdered at her father’s home in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Barakat’s death had come less than seven days after the murder of Vera Omozuwa, a student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), who was raped while reading inside a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Benin.
The actress earlier made headlines for using another woman’s picture to announce the arrival of her baby boy.
