Soludo appoints Oby Ezekwesili head of transition team

Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, governor-elect of Anambra State, has appointed Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education in the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo administration as the head of a transition team to prepare for a smooth take over of government from the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano. The team’s inauguration is scheduled to take place on January 20, at Agulu Lake Hotel (Golden Tulip), Anambra State.

Soludo, ex Central Bank of Nigeria Governor won the Anambra governorship election in November 2021 as the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, defeating Mr Valentine Ozigbo of the PDP and Andy Uba of the APC.

Ezekwesili is expected to draw up a transition plan to ensure a smooth transition in March this year when Soludo will be inaugurated as governor of Anambra State.

Other members of the team are not yet known at the time of going to press.

The Nigerian Xpress has reported that President Muhammadu Buhari has rejoiced with Governor-elect of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
