Sokoto gov. condoles families of victims of Shagari LG canoe mishap

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has condoled the people of Lambara Village in Shagari Local Government Area of the state over the loss of six people as a result of a canoe mishap in the area.

In a release issued by Muhammad Bello, Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor, the governor prayed Allah to grant the deceased aljannat firdausi and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He warned the people of the area against rowing canoe while it is raining, urging them to take precautionary measures against any such future incident.

Governor Tambuwal also explained the state’ government plans to procure ferries and distribute them to  local government areas so as to ease their transit  in the rivers when the need arises.

On security challenges, the release said the governor charged them to continue giving their support to security agents and the traditional rulers of their domain. He also appealed to them to report any suspicious movement to them with a view to taking necessary measures against the criminals.

The governor also urged them to pray fervently for the sustenance of peace and stability in the state and the country in general.

He also said state government would repair the Shagari- Tureta road which has been dilapidated by flood and prayed to Allah to prevent future re-occurence.
