Sen. Uwajumogu hails Buhari’s victory at Tribunal

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Employment, Labour and Productivity, Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has hailed the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which dismissed the petition of Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, stating that it put a final seal of approval on President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the February polls, which was already acknowledged by the vast majority of ordinary Nigerians, political parties and the international community.

Sen. Uwajumogu commended the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar for availing himself of the country’s legal and judicial system in expressing his reservations about the conduct of the elections.

The senator,  who represents Imo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, hopes that Alhaji Atiku and his party would accept the ruling of the esteemed panel of judges in good faith and join hands with President Buhari and other well-meaning Nigerians to build a united, stronger and prosperous nation that present and future generations of Nigerians can be proud of.

He expressed great optimism that President Buhari would continue to contribute positively to national development while urging the opposition to join hands in the process of national reconciliation and national renaissance.

He assured that with the victory at the Tribunal, the 9th Senate is more than poised to work with the executive under the leadership of President Buhari, to remain fully focused on their electoral mandate and to continue to work assiduously to implement its ‘Next Level’ agenda for national transformation in fulfillment of better living conditions for all Nigerians.
