SARS officer slumps, dies in his office, two weeks after losing two colleagues

The Special Anti -Robbery Squad (SARS), Lagos State Police Command has been thrown into mourning, following the sudden demise of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Christopher Akpan, attached to the unit. 
Akpan who was recently promoted to the rank of an ASP,  is married with children. Popularly called S.O., Akpan, had reportedly slumped and died in his office at the command last Friday. 
His death which is the third in the unit in three weeks, has caused panic amongst officer of the unit, who are now calling for prayers for the unit. 

According to a colleague of the deceased, who did not want his name mentioned, the deceased had reported for work on the said day looking good and healthy as usual. 

The source said Akpan had just returned from an operation and had gone into the bathroom in his office to refresh and prepare for another operation, when he slumped.

He was allegedly found by a subordinate, who had come to find out what time they would be leaving for the next operation. 
One of his subordinates who also spoke on the condition of anonymity said: “ Oga Akpan’s death is still a shock to me. He came back from an operation with his boys and went into his office to prepare for another operation but his boys after waiting for him to no avail went to knock on his door but there was no response. They felt he had gone out and they called his mobile phone but it rang but he did not pick up.
“ They decided to kick his door open and they saw him sitting on his chair but couldn’t talk or move. They rushed him to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival”
Reports have it that barely a week ago, one  Inspector  Nlong said to be a  personal assistant to the Officer – in – Charge (OC) of SARS Lagos state command, Peter Gana, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), was said to have died in a ghastly  road accident on the Okene  road. 
The late Nlong was heading back to Lagos in a Toyota Hiace  van,  driven by another policeman, after attending Gana’s daughter’s church dedication in Jos, Plateau State. 

While the driver survived the accident, and is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital,  Nlong unfortunately,  died on the spot. 
In another tragic occurrence, one Inspector Tunde had also died after a brief illness.
