Sanwo-Olu orders Igando Relief Camp open for victims of Abule-Egba pipeline explosion

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has ordered that the Igando Relief Camp of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) be opened to the about 300 displaced persons, affected by the Abule-Egba pipeline explosion.

According to LASEMA spokesperson, Nosa Okunbor, who issued a statement, he said the directive, followed a request made to the governor by the Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Dr.) Adeoye Augustine Arogundade.

Recall that the inferno which was caused by the activities of petroleum pipeline vandals in the area had affected 11 buildings, 17 shops, 39 vehicles and claimed five lives.

The statement reads, “ In view of the disaster resulting from the pipeline vandalisation of Sunday, January 19,  2020, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has magnanimously granted the request of the Chairman Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Adeoye Augustine Arogundade, and has Directed that the Igando Relief Camp of LASEMA be opened to the about 300 Internally Displaced Persons/victims with immediate effect.

“In the same development, Mr. Bosun Ogunkolade has been appointed Head of Special Duties and Camp Commandant over LASEMA Relief Camps to oversee the affairs and welfare of the about 300 Internally Displaced Persons from the Abule Egba/Ile Epo pipeline explosion. He resumes duty with immediate effect. ”
