A pro-democracy organization, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), has praised the feat achieved by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in the transportation sector with the first Africa’s Intra-City Rail Line in Lagos.

Convener and National President of the organization, Comrade Razaq Olokoba dropped the commendation in Lagos Monday during a chat with our correspondent where he stated that, “this latest feat has confirmed that Sanwo-Olu’s other achievements are real and not fake,” expressed the confidence that, “this is another testimony that his second term in office through the next year’s general election is confirmed.”

According to the human rights activist, the appreciative people of Lagos State, who never allow such feats to pass unnoticed, “will surely reciprocate such a performance with another term in office for Sanwo-Olu,” in line with the axiom, ‘one good turns deserves another,’ adding that, “the Lagos people, residents and the electorates are already looking beyond 2023 because another term for Sanwo-Olu is as good as a foregone conclusion.”

The excited political watcher and overwhelmed public commentator pointed out that, “we of the CDG are not surprised with the latest feat because the Governor has severally passed our periodic dignity test,” expressing the conviction that, “Sanwo-Olu we know still has more up his sleeves.”

Olokoba’s remarks came at the wake of the Lagos Blue and Red Rail Lines that are almost ready for the use of the state commuters. According to reports, the blue line that will run on electricity, is built with the state’s own state-of-the-art power facilities which is the first intra-City rail line in the entire continent of Africa to be built over water.

Reports added that, it is also the first electric train in West Africa which is expected to carry 500,000 passengers on a single day while the red line, which is currently the fastest train in Africa is expected to carry one million passengers a daily.  Lagos, Nigeria with a population of 25 million is confirmed to be the first African mega-city to have both an electric train and a high speed train.

With this project, the report revealed that, Lagos is expected to generate over $300 million in revenue in its first phase, which is expected to increase to 5 million passengers per day in a couple of years.
