A salesman aged 26, Chinedu Obi, has been arrested by the police, for allegedly defiling 12-year-old twin daughters of his employer.

It was gathered that Obi worked at a restaurant located at Soluowu Street, in Surulere, Lagos State, where he usually had carnal knowledge of the girls since 2019.

Speaking on how it all started, Obi, a native of Umuaka in Imo State, said he was quite close to the family, having worked with them for years.

He said on a particular day in 2019, one of the twins returned from school and was changing her clothes in front of him, which turned him on.

He said he approached the under-aged girl and told her would be giving her money if she allowed him had sex with her and she accepted.

He claimed after having sex with the first, the second also came saying she wanted him to have sex with her like he did with the sister and he obliged.

The mother of the girls found out about the act after she returned home on one occasion and found the girl fighting over how to share N200 Obi gave them after a romp.

The mother reportedly asked how they got the money and what they had done to warrant the cash gift from the salesman, and they opened up.

Lagos State police spokesperson, Bala Elkana, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement, on Sunday, said, “On June 16, 2020,  at about 2:55 p.m. a woman in her mid thirties (name withheld) reported at Aguda Police Station that her salesman, Chinedu Obi had sexual intercourse with her 12-year-old twin daughters (names withheld), when she left the two girls with him in her house.

Elkana said that the Commissioner of Police (CP) Hakeem Odumosu, had ordered the transferred of the case to Gender Unit, State Headquarters, Ikeja for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.

He said that the police boss has also advised parents not to trust anyone with their kids, especially female children.

“The CP further reaffirmed the commitment of the command to continually apprehend sexual offenders, wherever they are in the state and make them face the full weight of the law. Together we can stop rape and all forms of sexual violence.”
