Razaq Bamidele

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, has felicitated with the Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on his victory at the Supreme Court, in respect of the last gubernatorial election in the state.

Adetimehin, in a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr. Alex Kalejaye said, “The judgment is an affirmation, and a validation of the popular belief that the APC candidate convincingly won the election,” describing the legal tussle as an avoidable distraction the governor should put behind him and concentrate on government business in the interest of all.

The people of Kogi State, Adetimehin contended, deserved more dividends of democracy, “and as a party, our major focus is the wellbeing of the people and we cannot afford to disappoint them”.

He commended the judiciary for painstakingly considering all the facts before them to arrive at “such a sound judgment”; the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies for what he termed, ‘civilised dispositions’ during the election.

The party, in the same vein, felicitated with the APC, particularly in Kogi State over “the sweet victory”, saying the judgment further enhanced consolidation of the party in the North Central State.

“We thank the Almighty Allah for His benevolence and kindness, and for giving us the inestimable and all round victory”, he added, praying God to grant Mr. Governor the grace, and sound health to deliver on campaign promises.

“Once again, we say congratulations to all APC family in Kogi state and across the country at large on the latest victory,” the statement concluded.
