An eighteen years old Emmanuel Otunne has been remanded in the Port Harcourt Maximum prison custody over alleged defilement of a female minor.
The accused who was a gateman in the same building where the five years victim residents with her parent was said to had allegedly defiled with his finger other girl minor in the neighborhood.
Otunne is facing a one count charge of rape in suit number PMC/1582c/2019.

The charge reads: “That you Emmanuel Otunne on the 2nd day of August, 2019 at No. 40 Eastern Bypass, Port Harcourt in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District did have an unlawful carnal knowledge of Winnie ( surname withheld) five years old and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code Act Cap. C38 Laws of Federation 2004”.
A Deputy Superintendent of Police, Godwin Nwinam is the prosecution in the matter.
Meanwhile, when the matter was mentioned in court, the accused person allegedly confessed to crime. He blamed his act on the work and influence of the devil and pleaded for mercy.
The presiding Magistrate, C. Gomba Osaro, who reacted on the matter ordered that the accused be remanded in the prison custody.
She also directed the court registrar to transmit the original case file to the Director Public Prosecution for legal advice and adjourned the matter till September 30, 2019.
