Rivers: Another pro-Wike commissioner quits Fubara’s cabinet, describes workspace as toxic

A loyalist of Nyesom Wike, the immediate past governor of the state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mmom, in a May 15, 2024 letter to Fubara, described his workspace as “toxic.”

He further cited unhealthy “loss of trust and animosity” as reason for quitting.

“It is a truism that a calm, safe and friendly environment would stimulate efficient service delivery and enhanced productivity.

“It is however unfortunate to note that my current workspace has become toxic and no longer guarantees a favourable environment to enable me realise my set targets for the education sector in the state.

“There is loss of trust, animosity, and sharp division among colleagues in the same cabinet which is unhealthy and very unfortunate.”

Mmom is the third among loyalists of the FCT minister who were reappointed after their initial resignation r following the crisis of confidence between Fubara and Wike, to resign.

Earlier, Zacchaeus Adangor, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, and Isaac Kamalu, commissioner for finance, had resigned.
