Britain’s Queen Elizabth II, Saudi Arabia and other countries said they were “deeply saddened
by the appalling events” after 49 people were killed in an attack at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
“Prince Philip [the queen’s husband] and I send our condolences to the families and friends of those, who have lost their lives,” the queen said in a statement.
I also pay tribute to the emergency services and volunteers, who are providing support to those, who have been injured,” she added. At this tragic time, my thoughts and prayers are with all New Zealanders.”
Saudi Arabia, has condemned “in the strongest words’’ attacks on two mosques in New Zealand that killed at least 49 people, the
kingdom’s state news agency SPA reported.

“Terrorism has no religion or home,” the agency quoted an unnamed official at the Saudi Foreign Ministry as saying. The kingdom stresses the “necessity of respecting religions,” the official added.
Following a brutal mass shooting at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, Germany’s top diplomat said the incident
was a “gruesome terrorist attack” targeting “peacefully praying Muslims.”
“When people are murdered simply for their religion, it’s an attack on all of us. We’re standing together at the side of the victims.
Stay strong, New Zealand!”
French Interior Minister, Christophe Castaner, says security is being increased at mosques across the country in the wake of the mass shooting at mosques in New Zealand.
“As a precaution, I have immediately instructed our prefects to be on the highest vigilance and asked them to step up surveillance of places of worship in our country.
Patrols will take place around religious buildings,” he wrote on Twitter.
French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted his condemnation of the attack and said “all our thoughts are with the victims.”

Khan said he was in close contact with London’s Metropolitan Police, “who are stepping up reassurance patrols around
Mosques and increasing engagement with communities of all faiths.
“The Pakistani government and its leadership condemned the terrorist attack in two separate mosques in Christchurch city of New
Zealand, which killed many and injured more than 40 others.
Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Faisal said this in a statement Twittered.

Pakistani President, Arif Alvi, said in a statement that he was shocked and grieved to learn about the horrific massacre in Christchurch mosques, adding that “hate, once unleashed is difficult to stop.”
Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, expressed grieve and strongly condemned the attack, saying “this reaffirms what we have always maintained that terrorism does not have a religion.”
According to local media reports, more than 5,000 overseas Pakistanis are living in New Zealand but there is no report yet on Pakistani casualties in the attack.
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry said some Jordanian citizens are among the injured in Christchurch mosque attacks.
The ministry also condemned the terrorist attacks that targeted two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch.
The ministry said the it is under cooperation with the Embassy of Jordan in Australia to follow up on the issue for the conditions of the injured.
Kuwait strongly condemned the terrorist shooting attacks on mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said.
Kuwait affirms its full stand and solidarity with New Zealand, and support of all measures to preserve the security and safety of its people and
residents, the ministry said in a statement.
Kuwait reiterates its firm stand against all forms and manifestations of terrorism and violence, the statement said.
It also urged the international community to exert further efforts to eliminate violence and terrorism.
Kuwait expresses sincere condolences and sorrow to the victims’ families, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded, the statement said. (NAN)
