Proposed #EndSARS anniversary satanic – Group

A pro-democracy and human right organisation, the Nigeria Peace Advocacy Group, has described the plan to commemorate the destructive #EndSARS protest of last year’s October 20, as satanic and uncalled for, saying, it should be prevented by the all well-meaning people of Lagos State and Nigerians generally.

Convener of the group, Comrade Omolola Olukayode, in a statement in Lagos Friday said, though our organisation is out to defende democracy and fundamental human right of the citizenry, people’s experience from the #EndSARS protest turned riot was too sad an experience to be allowed to reoccur!

According to the group, no sane society that worth its salt would allow such destruction incident that visited wanton destruction and death on its people and property to happen again on its environment, pointing out that, besides the injuries suffered by the citizenry that are still festering, the scars are also still painful, making the psyche still bleeding!

The group is of the conviction that, those proposing the anniversary of the satanic incident must be seen as enemies of Lagos and economic saboteurs, who are out to further destroy Lagos, vowing that, “our organization will rest the attempt to further visit Lagos with another round of mayhem with the last drop of our drop using all constitutionally allowed weapons within our Disposal.”

The Advocacy Organization, which called the attention of the people to the needless wanton destruction visited on the state last year along with several loss of lives and business heritages, asserted that, that is enough excuse to disallow repetition of the sad event saying all well-meaning people of the state should rise up to prevent another attempt at attacking them in the name of dubious anniversary.

The group also tasked all patriotic citizen of the state to be at alert and expose those hiding under the umbrella of the human right advocacy to commit evil with a view to alerting the security agencies and the appropriate quarters for necessary actions, reminding the axiom, a stitch in time saves nine because prevention is cheaper and better than cure.

The statement, which said, security is the collective responsibility of all and sundry, wants all hands to be on deck to defend their city against the enemies of the state with their rascality tendencies to disrupt the smooth running of the machinery of the state under the able leadership of a born achiever, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

The statement wondered how anybody or group of individuals would want to throw spanners into the wheel of good governance being exemplified by Governor Sanwo-Olu instead of assisting him to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people’s door steps, tasking the people to vehemently reject the proposal knowing full well that the consequences of such a proposal!
