Pro-Atiku ex-Rep arrested with $500k in P’Harcourt

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinyere Igwe, has been arrested with an unspecified amount of foreign currencies.

Hon. Igwe, who represented Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2, between 2007 and 2011, in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, was arrested, on Friday morning, along Aba Road, in Port Harcourt.

It was gathered that the lawmaker confessed to have received the huge amount of money from Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, for the election holding tomorrow Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Alongside the cash recovered, the sharing formula written in a document was also recovered by the police.

Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the federal lawmaker’s arrest said a statement on the matter would be released soon.
