Primate Ayodele slams CAN for ‘hobnobbing’ with politicians

Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, has lambasted the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for what he called ‘hobnobbing’ with politicians instead of providing divine direction for the country.

Speaking at a press conference, on Friday, in Lagos State, Primate Ayodele berated the CAN and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) for not taking care of the widows, orphans and less privileged in the society.

He described both CAN and PFN as ‘self centred’ Christian associations looking for what they could get from the government and use it for themselves alone.

On 2023 presidential election, he said none of the three frontliners, that’s Peter Obi of Labour Party; Atiku Abubakar and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the People’s Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress respectively would give Nigerians the desired results.

“If you are waiting for me to name a particular candidate that will emerge victorious, I won’t do that now. We have passed that stage. I will only give you how they will fare in each state across the country.

“None of the three frontrunners; that’s Obi, Atiku and Tinubu will give you the desired results. They will all fail you. “Already, some people are saying Obi is my candidate, but I can tell you, I have no candidate among them. I’m not a politician.

“If LP wins, we are going to see a difficult government. None of the three will help Nigeria. Tinubu would have been the best, but God is against Muslim/Muslim ticket.”

On the way out of the economic quagmire, Primate Ayodele said, “The only solution is restructuring. We need to restructure the country.”
