He however, regretted the cost and inconveniences the postponement might have caused.

He advanced the INEC to ensure that the new date was sacrosanct for the conduct of the elections.

“We have all felt the pains of the postponement of this election, but I see it at a good action towards efficient conduct of the elections.

It is enormous that the decision will not go down well with many, but the reality is that it had happened.

I will appeal to my fellow electorate to exercise patience and still turn up for the elections.

I equally advice the INEC to make sure all hitches have being addressed,’ Isa said.

NAN reports that INEC shifted Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections by one week after a meeting, which began Friday evening ended early on Saturday.

The governorship and house of assembly, FCT area council elections have also been shifted from March 2 to March 9.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu attributed the postponement of all the scheduled elections to logistic and operational problems.(NAN)
