Poor economy is no excuse for sexual assault – Gov. Makinde’s wife

Wife of the Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, has said loss of jobs caused by the poor state of the economy was not an excuse for any man to unleash violence on his wife or any women for that matter.

The governor’s wife said this when she led wives of chairmen of local government councils and other government appointees in the state on a campaign on violence against women and girls.

In an interview, Mrs. Makinde said women should always speak out on any form of violence against them.
