Police nab 3 suspected kidnappers, rescue victim unharmed in Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command says three suspected kidnappers operating on the outskirts of Enugu state metropolis have been arrested.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu state that the suspects were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday by police operatives.

Amaraizu said that the police acted “on well-gathered and coordinated intelligence information.’’

The spokesman said that the suspects allegedly kidnapped their victim on March 16 at about 5: 30 a.m.

He said that the suspects kidnapped their victim with an unregistered tricycle at Umueze community in Awkunanaw axis of Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state.

“Their arrest was triggered when their hideout at Umueze community was raided by police operatives based on intelligence information.

“Police operatives also rescued their victim identified as one Chime Edeh unhurt.

“The suspects are helping the police in their investigations in relation to their nefarious activities,’’ Amaraizu said. (NAN)
