Two suspects, who had been using the name of the Ogun State Governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to defraud unsuspecting members of the public, have been arrested.

The suspects, Hassan Jimoh and Taiwo Edun, had allegedly swindled members of the public through a job recruitment  exercise they claimed to be undertaking for the governor-elect.

They claimed the governor-elect had contacted them to start the recruitment of 10,000 youths for a task force with the name ‘Keep Ogun State Clean Corps’.

The suspects were arrested after the elected governor distanced himself from the said recruitment, which victims were made to pay N3,000 each for registration form.

“ They said it was for a task force with the name ‘Keep Ogun State Clean Corps’. In the advert, they had instructed interested members of the public to come forward and register with N3,000 per person.

“But in a swift reaction, the governor-elect in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr. Remmy Hassan dissociated the governor-elect from the group and warned members of the public to beware of the fraudulent syndicate.”
