Police arrest notorious cultist for murder in Lagos

A notorious cultist, Ibrahim Abdullahi, who is alleged to have killed three residents of Satellite-Town  community, has been arrested by operatives of the Satellite Police  Division, Lagos State Police Command.
The suspect, who is also known asTiny is said to be a member of the dreaded Vickings Confraternity. The alleged wanted cultist was arrested alongside his accomplice in the crime, Obinna Kelvin.
It was gathered that Abdullahi was arrested in the early hours of March 23, 2019, at his hideout in the Ijegun-Egba area of Satellite – town during an operation led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Satellite-Town Division, CSP Chike Oti.
The Division, it was learnt had engaged in a raid to rid the community of the violent activities of criminals in the area when the suspects were arrested.
The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Elkana Bala, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect said the raid followed a directive by the State Commissioner of Police,  CP Zubairu Muazu.
“ CP Zubairu Muazu had earlier in the week charged Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical Unit Commanders in the state, to clamp down on the activities of members of unlawful societies and raid all identified criminal enclaves.
“ Based on this directive and credible intelligence received, the Division swung into action arresting Abdullahi who had been on the run since he was linked to the murder of three residents of the community.

“ His accomplice, Kelvin who is 23 year old was also arrested. During interrogation, they confessed to belonging to a cult group called the Aro-Bagger aka Vickings, he said. “
Bala disclosed that three other cultists who claimed to be members of the Eiye Confraternity were also arrested by operatives of the Division.
He gave their identities as: Ismaila Adebayo, Bode Akodo, and Adefesun Abdulwahab.
Speaking further,  the PPRO said, “ CP Muazu had directed the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, to take over the case involving Abdullahi which has to do with an ongoing investigation on the three murder incidents linked to him.
“ The other suspects were transferred to the Command’s Anti Cultism Squad for further investigation.”
In another development, the Division had also arrested a a notorious traffic robber, Stephen Egbe.
The suspect it was learnt specialised in robbing commuters along Mile2/Badagry Expressway. He was caught around Mosalachi bus stop near Maza- Maza, by detectives of Satellite Town Police Division.
The PPRO said the Command’s Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) had been directed to take over investigation as all the suspects arrested will be charged to court.
