PDP leads in Bayelsa Assembly polls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is leading in 12 of 16 results so far declared for the State House of Assembly election in Bayelsa State by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) has four while results for Brass 1 is inconclusive and those of the four constituencies in Souther Ijaw are being awaited.
No results were also declared for Ogbia Constituencies 1, 2 and 3.
Mr. Wilfred Ifogah, Head of Department, INEC Voter Education and Publicity, released the results in Yenagoa, the state capital.
The results indicated that PDP’s Ingobere Abraham won in Brass Constituency 3 with 6,551 to beat APC’s Yousuo Ogberiakuma who polled 2,142. In Nembe Constituency 1, Ololo Ebi Ben of the PDP scored 14,941 while Derri Omiediekuma of the APC got 1,675.
In Kolokuma Opokuma Constituencies 1 and 2, both Isenah Tonye and Fafi Wisdom of the PDP won with 7,478 and 5,693 as against APC’s Angaapele Inemotimi and Kewike Olata who scored 3,805 and 2,697 respectively.
Yenagoa Constituencies 1, 2 and 3 were also won by the PDP as Oforji Oboku polled 26,012, Oviemovam Agoro of APC got 1,976, Koku Obiyan, a female of the PDP won with 6,346 while APC’s Waripamo Stephen scored 2,998. Elemefuro Teddy of the PDP also outscored Jack Caroline of the APC with 3,674 to 974.respectively.
In the other results, PDP’s Tare Porri of Ekeremor Constituency 1 got 7,239, Ognguer Borrdalon of APC recorded 3,945. Ekeremor Constituency 3 was also won by Ogbere Michael of the PDP who polled 4,535 against APC’s Odudu Livnus who got 1,637. However, Wilson Ayakpo of the APC scored 17,428 to beat PDP’s Ekiotene Grace who scored 11,184 in Ekeremor Constituency 2.
