Paul Adefarasin apologises to Sanwo-Olu after youths booed governor at The Experience

Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adeferasin apologised to Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday at the church’s The Experience in Lagos.

Adeferasin said the behaviour of his church members was unbiblical and said, ‘I apologise to officials of Lagos State on your behalf.’

He said: “The behaviour tonight is unscriptural. The Bible says do all things murmur and complaining. The scripture enjoins us to pray for our leaders and all that are in authority. This behaviour is not biblical. I earnestly caution you that we must learn how to pray for those who lead us.”

Many believe the congregation was reacting to the White Paper report by Lagos State on the EndSARS Judicial Panel, which rejected parts of the report which said there was a massacre at Lekki Tollgate when soldiers opened fire at protesters on October 20 last year.

Sanwo-Olu had invited some of the EndSARS activists to a Peace Walk this December with many of them opting out citing injustice against protesters by security agents.

Sanwo-Olu invited soldiers on October 20, 2021, to quell growing protest against the now-disbanded notorious police unit, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

In an earlier report, The Nigerian Xpress said Segun Awosanya on Thursday said he will join Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the proposed Peace Walk, which is one of the steps being taken by the Governor to herald the healing of Lagos to bring closure to the last year’s EndSARS protests and the Lekki toll gate incident.
