Following the rescue of nine Kano State kidnapped children, parents of the rescued children recounted their ordeal to Solacebase. Most of them expressed gratitude to God for making it possible to reunite with their children.
According to the father of one of the rescued children Malam Auwalu Murtala, known as Auwalu Ango; his daughter Amira Auwalu who is six years old was abducted on 5th September 2019 at their Kawo quarters residence in Nassarawa local government area of Kano state around 6:30 pm.
He added that his daughter was rescued from Anambra state where she was given the name Chinyere and was already sold to another person at N1.5 million and was about to be taken to Lagos state.
“I shed tears of joy when I finally set eyes on my daughter; we have searched and had already given up on ever seeing her again. This is just too good to be true for us, we have been praying and thanking God our prayers have been answered. I will also want to extend our gratitude to the Nigerian Police Kano command for doing a wonderful job, “he said.

Similarly, the father of another rescued child Husna who is just five years old, Malam Danlami Hassan told our reporters that, his daughter Husna and Amira who incidentally happens to be cousins were abducted at the same time, the same place and the same day.
According to him, their discovery in Anambra was just a miracle and an act of destiny as they have given up hope of seeing them again.
“We thought we have lost them forever, but here we are reunited again. There are many who have come to the police in search of theirs but they couldn’t find them, I pray to God to let them be reunited with their children as we are with ours today. The excitement is something words can’t say, we thank God for everything,” he said.
Solacebase gathered that the case of abduction of children between the ages of 2-6 in the last five years has become a frequent occurrence around Hotoro quarters, Nasarawa local government area where some of the abducted children have been traced to Anambra by security agents as they have been sold.
