Nigerian were rattled on Thursday to discover that documents, where the plot to assassinate late Patrick Yakowa, former governor of Kaduna State was recorded, has been on Nigeria’s social media site, Nairaland since August 2010.

The meeting allegedly chaired by the embattled Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, was unearthed by Nigerians on the social media site. It was posted on August 27, 2010, a month after the meeting was held.

The chilling document showed how members of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), under the chairmanship of Pantami plotted the death of Yakowa and the invasion of other states in the North Central state of Plateau including Kaduna State where Yakowa was governor.

Yakowa died in a helicopter crash on December 15, 2012, alongside former National Security Adviser, Owoye Azazi.

The meeting addressed the growing threat of the spread of Christianity in the north and how to curtail it and the full implementation of Jihad in the northern states of Nigeria.

On Wednesday, The Peoples Gazette, a Nigerian newspaper revealed that Pantami chaired the meeting of JNI in Bauchi Central Mosque on July 13, 2010.

Nigerians on social media again demanded the sack of the minister, saying he’s an existential threat to the security of the country.

Pantami has been on the eye of the storm since it emerged that he was placed on a terror watch list by the United States.

He has since denied the allegations.
