Oyo monarch, Onjo of Okeho denies death rumour

Oba AbdulRafiu Mustapha Osuolale Adeitain II, the Onjo Of Okeho, has denied the rumour of his death, saying he’s alive.

Rumour had gone round on Monday morning that the monarch had joined his ancestors.

In a live video, the monarch admitted he was sick for some time but has long recovered after spending a few days at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan.

He said he is now at home and recuperating better.

“Truly, I was sick, and was taken to the University College Hospital, Ibadan on the 18th Of July, till the Sunday 24th of July the day that the Aseyin died.

“I didn’t even know that he was also there at the hospital. It was later that I got to know that he died, which I was told on the second day.

“Since I got home I have been treated well by doctors and I’ve been responding to treatment.

“I’m hale and hearty, I’m alive and I will live long,” he said in the video.
