Osun begins training of 360 Amotekun recruits

The training of first batch of successful candidates for the Osun State Amotekun Corps has taken off at the Wole Soyinka Government High School, at Ejigbo.

The registration and documentation of successful applicants had occurred, on Sunday, August 15, 2021.

The newly intake were expected to do their Passing Out Parade, on Saturday, September 4, 2021.

Chairman of the board, Brig. Gen Isah Aderibigbe (rtd) said that there were exceptional instructors on ground to train the Amotekun Corps personnel to discharge their duties as expected. Members of corps will be deployed for immediate operation after the training.

According to him, “After the training we expect men of kindling and quality which would use their experience learnt in the camp to shield the lives and goods of our people, he urges the newly recruited to be disciplined and obey all the instructions.”

In his view, the Corp Commander, Brig.-Gen. Bashir Adewinbi warned criminal element  in the state to vacate state of because the newly-recruited personnel would not take it lightly with any criminals, he urge the residents of the state to be rest assured of the new intake of Amotekun Corps. He advised the new Amotekun intake to know they are one because they all came from distinctive background, Comsaic, Hunters (VGN), OPC, Man O’ War, Agbekoya and others and they should not hold grudges with each other considerably they should see themselves as one sizeable family because Amotekun is one.

In his reaction, the camp Commandant who is the chief instructor, Captain Ajibolu Fatia (rtd), advised the new recruits to take the training very serious because whatever knowledge they acquired this time could not be regain tomorrow, he said, “Without any doubt after their training we will face any Security challenge in Osun State and there will not be unexpected situation in our state after this training.

“I also thank Governor Gboyega Oyetola for using his initiative, nonetheless this one may not be adequate as of certain areas they will necessity to cross but as time goes on more recruitment will be made, as the governor is putting all efforts in terminology of security, our people should be rest assured that after camp the news you be inquiry about Amotekun will be positive,” Ajibolu said.
