The Osun State House of Assembly, on Monday, began hearing of the Transition Bill 2022 ahead of swearing-in of Sen. Ademola Adeleke as governor of the state.
Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, during the House plenary, presented the bill tagged: ‘State of Osun Transition Bill 2022’, signalling the commencement of hand-over of power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The State of Osun Transition Bill 2022 passed Second Reading, on Monday, and it was aimed at a seamless transition of power on November 27 as Sen. Adeleke would be sworn in as the governor.
Hon. Owoeye said the bill, when passed into law, would help comprehensive and practical arrangement to regulate, in accordance with the law, the transfer of political power following an election to the office of the governor.
