Osimhen reiterates commitment to Charleroi

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has yet reitreated his loyalty and commitment to Charleroi despite widespread reports linking him away from the Belgian Jupiler side.
The 19-year-old Osimhen was a hit with Charleroi last season where he remarkably scored 20 goals, including the record-breaking quickest goal in the history of the Belgian First Division A with an 8.15second opening goal against Antwerp on 26th May and was also declared the club’s player of the season.
“I’m not in position to discuss about transfer and mine is to play football,” explained Osimhen who won Bronze medal with the Super Eagles at the recently concluded AFCON in Egypt.
“ I have representatives and it’s the work of Jean Gerrard , Shira Yussuf and Ariyo Igbayilola to deal with such issues involving transfers.
“ It’s not true that Charleroi doesn’t want to keep me.
Speaking further, Osimhen who formally switched from Wolfsburg to Charleroi in June after his impressive performance outing the loan spell, said he would always be grateful to the management of the Belgian side.
“I love the club (Charleroi),” he noted.“ Bayat and Mazzu gave me the opportunity to play for the club and I would forever be grateful for this opportunity.”
Meanwhile, close confidant to the former Golden Eaglets’ striker stated that some offers are being studied with a view of determining the next career step.
“ There I no iota of truth to an erroneous report that Charleroi doesn’t want to keep Victor and not even after what he did with the club last season. But whatever would be decided would be in conjunction with the club because Charleroi gave Victor a big lifeline after he was given out on loan by Wolfsburg, “ explained Igbayilola.
