There was tension in Okochiri Kingdom, Okirika Local Government Area of Rivers State, home town of King Ateke Tom, on Thursday, following the killing of one person allegedly by military men.
The Nigerian Xpress gathered that the soldiers who invaded the home of Ateke also arrested over five persons, who are guests to the king in his palace in Okochiri.
It was learned that the soldiers also killed three dogs belonging to the king during the sudden operation and destroyed all the security cameras at the palace.
The media aide to the King, Tamuno Peters, who confirmed the development disclosed that the soldiers upon invasion of the palace shot one person and made away with his remains.

He said: “This afternoon (Thursday), military men in over 20 vans invaded the home of King Ateke Tom, without any information.
“They killed a youth and carried his dead body. They killed three dogs because they were barking at them.
“The Army men also destroyed all the security cameras at the home of King Ateke. They entered the camera room and destroyed everything so that they will not be recorded.
“They went to the quest quarters and arrested five persons for no just cause. They carter away money from the room of his Majesty.”
