Ondo APC boss pushes for synergy between State Assembly, Executive

A robust synergy between the Ondo State House of Assembly, and the executive arm of the State Government would help to sustain the current aggressive approach to  physical and economic development of the state, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC ) in the state, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, has said.

The party boss, in a statement by the state’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Alex Kalejaye, argued that avoidable scuffles between the two arms of government usually hamper sustained development and productivity.

Speaking when he led the State Working Committee in a parley with the lawmakers, in Akure, Adetimehin said personal interests must be subservient to party’s larger interest.

“What I am demanding from members of the Ondo State Assembly are total cooperation, loyalty, and commitment to the party and government. This would not mean that you are a rubber stamp.

“It is not unusual to offend each other in politics, but we must try to tolerate each other, and that is the way to develop and make meaningful impacts, both in the State and at the national level”, he admonished.

Besides the chain of industries in Ore, and plan for a deep sea port, Adetimehin assured, the bitumen exploration would commence soon.

“The project is not being funded by government, but by a corporate body. All the machines needed for the operation have been imported,” he revealed.

Responding, Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun, commended the roles played by the State chapter before, during and after the elections.

He said the House believes in the supremacy of the party, and assured of maximum cooperation in the interest of the party and the state.

“There is no doubts that the State House of Assembly  has so much respect for, and confidence in the party and the Governor,” he added.
