Ogun advises school administrators to embrace COVID-19 vaccine

Chairman of Ogun State Teaching Service Commission, Evang. Olalekan Ifede, has enjoined all school administrators to embrace the on-going mandatory vaccine, to pave way for sound health and boost  educational standard  in the state.

Ifede stated this at the 41st Annual Congress tagged “The Impacts of Covid-19 Pandemic on Secondary Education in Nigeria”, held at Ilaro Stadium, Yewa, Ogun State.

Ifede, in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Mrs. Gbonjubola Alao, said that the vaccine has helped in combatting the virus from further spreading,  and has reduced untimely death among the citizenry, noting that it has helped in reviving Nigeria economy and the world at large.

He noted that the pandemic compelled the government to close schools for several months, which propelled students to study  through electronics learning, saying that this had helped    develop their mental horizon  on  Computer  usage, as the world is evolving to digital age.

“Indeed, the pandemic has made our children develop their mental  intellect  on computer, which has enabled  them  leverage on their academic pursuit”, Ifede said

He, however, applauded the present administration-led by Prince Dapo Abiodun for its determination to reposition the educational sector, which is yielding positive result  in  the State.

Speaking earlier, the President, All Nigeria Conference Of Principals Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Dr. (Mrs) Ayodele Womiloju, noted that it was imperative to enlighten the Principals on the consequences of avoiding the vaccine, stating that past negligence of Covid-19 compliance has led to the death of many Nigerians.

Womiloju further stated that adherence to Covid-19 protocols would establish a peaceful atmosphere for knowledge impartation in schools.

Two of the awardees at the congress Mr. Aremo Olugbenga and Adeyemo Olusoji, expressed their gratitude on award received and commended the state government for its benevolence nurtured towards the well-being of teachers and students in the state.
