“Due to the erroneous and callous posts being carried on certain blogs and website, it has become imperative that the public is abreast with the following:

“1. The family is yet to reach a decision regarding what approach to take as they are still grieving the loss of the deceased.

“2. It is beyond callous and reprehensible to upload the pictures and name of the deceased without the consent of her family members. This is highly unacceptable.

“3. The continuous circulation of the watered down and abridged versions of the events that led to the deceased demise and aftermath of her tragic death failed to capture the magnitude and essence of this truly unfortunate debacle.

“With that being said, the bereaved family thanks the public for it’s unequivocal support and in the same vein, would like the public to respect privacy during these trying times.

“Considering the magnitude of our unbearable loss and the weight of the issue. We are deliberating on the necessary steps and actions to take with the memory of our beloved daughter and sister in mind, the appropriate authorities are on top of the matter and so are we. When a resolution is reached, we will communicate our decision to the public.

“Once again, respect the privacy of the family and let us mourn and grieve the loss of our beloved in peace. Thank you.”

The deceased was reportedly electrocuted in club in Wuse, Abuja, after allegedly stepping on a piece of wire in the clubhouse.

Obi Cubana and the club management had promptly issued a statement on the club’s Instagram page, shutting down the club indefinitely in honour of the dead.

“We’re closed till further notice. This is due to the loss of our esteemed client. We are deeply saddened by this situation and need to heal from it. Our prayers are with the families of the lost soul, may her soul rest in peace. We sympathise with the family on this unbearable loss,” it read.

The FCT Police Command had also confirmed the development through its spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, who added that investigation was still ongoing.

Adeh had said: “The case was reported to the police. This is a case of sudden and unnatural death, which investigation is going on. We are going to carry out an autopsy to determine the cause of the death. I can not tell you the cause of the death now until the investigation and autopsy are completed.”

With the latest twist and the reaction of the deceased clubber’s family, it is not yet clear what the next move of Obi Cubana and his club, Hustle and Bustle, would be.
