The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday
arrested popular socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi
Cubana.The club owner burst into limelight when he gave his late mother an
extravagant burial some months ago during which more than 200 cows
were reportedly killed.
He was brought to the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja, at
about noon on Monday where he is being interrogated.
The Anambra-State born socialite may be undergoing interrogation,
bordering on alleged tax fraud and money laundering.
According to a source: “Obi Cubana was arrested and brought to
the EFCC headquarters on Monday afternoon over allegations of money
laundering and tax fraud. He is being grilled by detectives as we
speak.”However, no official statement has been issued on the matter by the
anti-graft agency.
