NSCDC officer docked for alleged armed robbery

A personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Tersoo Chia, serving in Gboko Command was, on Thursday, arraigned at a Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court, in Makurdi, for allegedly robbing his victim of his telephone handset and the sum of N30,000.
The victim, Asemadoo Aor, residing at General Hospital Quarters, Gboko, in Benue  State,  reported that he was in his house on February 6, when the accused and two others at large, allegedly robbed him of the said items.

He said the robbers were armed with guns and knifes.
When the case was mentioned, a plea was refused for lack of jurisdiction. The Prosecutor, Sgt. Friday Kansho, told the Court that the case was transferred from ‘A’ Division Police Station, Gboko, to SCIID, Makurdi.
Counsel to the accused, Mr. A. Amooomo, applied for his bail on health grounds, while the Prosecutor opposed the bail application, saying the offence was capital in nature.
The accused was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 and a surety in like sum.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Isaac Ajim, adjourned the case to June 6, 2019, for further mention.
