NRC stops train services over coronavirus

Train passengers in Nigeria are in for a shocker over the spreading coronavirus as the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) said it would stop all train services from Monday, March 23.

The NRC also said information would be made available to passengers.

The corporation’s decision was contained in a statement by the Deputy Director Public Relations of the Corporation, Yakub Mahmood.

The statement reads: “The Board and Management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) have decided to stop all passengers’ train operation as from Monday 23rd March 2020.

“This is in view of the report of the already known Coronavirus outbreak.

“Further information on passengers’ train services will be made available in due cause to our esteemed passengers.”
