Nnamdi Kanu triumphs as court awards him N1b, asks FG to apologise

The Abia State High Court on Wednesday awarded the sum of N1 billion to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, over the 2017 military invasion of his home in Afara Ukwu.The presiding judge, Justice Benson Anya of also asked the Federal Government to apologise to Kanu over the invasion but refused to go into his alleged abduction from Kenya.

Elated Alloy Ejimako, Kanu’s lead counsel, commended the judgment, saying: “The gavel has finally fallen in search for justice.”
On his part, Amos Tori, counsel to the military, said he was awaiting the copy of the judgment so that he could forward it to his principals.
