NigeriaDecides: Residents report massive voter suppression in Lagos, Kogi

Residents in Lagos have expressed worry that they were not allowed to exercise their civic duties in many parts of the state.

Reports monitored on social media platforms show that most voters were intimidated by hoodlums who came to chase away voters and cart away ballot boxes.

In the Elegushi area of Lekki, reports show that popular musician, Falz had his phone stolen by hoodlums who came with dangerous weapons and destroyed voting materials.

The same was reported in Okota, Isolo area.

Soldiers were deployed later to restore order.

In the Surulere area of the state, MC Oluomo, a staunch supporter of Bola Ahmed Tinubu was caught on video threatening Igbos who want to vote in the area.

Also, an APC agent asked voters who would not vote for APC to return to their homes and that anyone caught voting otherwise would be dealt with.

Kogi Gov destroys roads to discourage voting 

Kogi State witnessed large-scale voter suppression as the Governor, Yahaya Bello allegedly destroyed infrastructure, especially roads leading to opponents’ strongholds to discourage voters and INEC materials from getting to their destination in time.
